Breast is Best

Breast is Best
Hi, It’s Tosi here,
If you follow My Good Nanny on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/MyGoodNanny, then you know I heart Breastfeeding Moms. I was a breastfeeding Mom and I know how hard it is to breastfeed.  Breastfeeding period is not for the faint of heart. It is painful at first, and can be very frustrating when you are a new Mom just trying to figure out life as a new Mom…car seats, bottles, sleep, vaccines, the list goes on and on.  I say all that to say please don’t give up, breast is really BEST.
You may wonder why I am blogging about breast milk??? Well, please let me be the first to tell you that one of the biggest benefits to having a nanny when you are breastfeeding is that she will honor your requests and make sure your child gets the breast milk you have pumped.   A good nanny is a breast feeding Moms dream come true.  As we all know, some daycare’s push formula as the feeding method of choice because it is easy and quick.  When you have a nanny that understands your breast feeding goals and desires, the feeding process can become less demanding. Breastfeeding requires a huge sacrifice when you work outside the home but it can be done. Trust me, I know. I did it for close to 24 months, driving to work when I had my daughter and my nanny was very supportive and respected my feeding wishes. Without her support and attention to detail, I would not have succeeded in breastfeeding my child for that long period of time.
Here are some of the many benefits to breastfeeding for Mom and Baby:
-It is FREE!!!
-It may help you lose weight
-It is a superior food for any infant
-It helps Mom bond with Child
-Studies show that Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is lower in breastfed babies
-Decreases mom’s risk of developing certain cancers and osteoporosis
-Studies show that Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is higher in breastfed babies
-Diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure are less common in later years in a breastfed baby
There are so many other benefits. Ask your healthcare professional and they will agree with me 100%, breast is best.  Good luck on your breastfeeding journey and know that I am rooting for you all the way.
Thank you for visiting My Good Nanny and please let us know how we can help you.
In Christ,
